grapes

A few days ago the grapes in our backyard all ripened. They were pretty small little grapes but were very sweet and delicious.

only one

Shortly after putting our garden in earlier this spring some darling but pesky squirrels ate most of the sunflower seeds that we had planted. Only one plant survived and this morning Hazel really wanted to pick it. She was so happy! P.S. We also picked our first beautifully red juicy tomato – I love summer!

nastursiums

I am so proud of my little nastursiums. I love these flowers. They are so cool looking and their leaves are so unusual. I planted seeds a few months ago and now they are happily growing in my garden bed and flower pots. Why is it so satisfying to grow things?

plumeria

Once upon a time my dear friend, Ilene, moved away and gave us her beautiful Plumeria plant. I think I killed it within a week. But she would be proud of me now! Today this Plumeria happily thrives in our front yard. Yay! Isn't it beautiful!!

Aren't sunflowers beautiful?

little sprout

Yay, things are growing! Cucumbers, squash, green onions, tomatoes, basil, cilantro and jalepeno peppers so far! We planted some more seeds today. Sunflowers, watermelon and pumpkin. Oliver likes to dig and plant the seed and water them. It works out great. Let's hope they can survive the heat!!
